Puglisi Scores Game Winner as Girls Soccer Upends NSA
After an outstanding performance at the sweeper position, and the game remaining a scoreless draw, sophomore Jessica Puglisi advanced forward and scored the game winner with four minutes to play in the match, giving Cape Henry the 1-0 victory. Goalkeeper Bridget Swift notched her second shutout of the year and was helped tremendously from the performance of Alexa Liebig, Stephanie White, Avi Goldman and Khajae Hester. Forwards Katie Ellis and Rachel Law kept pressure on the opposing goal throughout the game. It was the team’s increased determination in the game’s final 10 minutes which proved to be the difference on the afternoon. The Dolphins begin conference play on the road today (Friday) at Walsingham Academy. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m.
