Girls Lacrosse Falls in Hotly Contested Game Against Catholic
Cape Henry traveled to Bishop Sullivan on Tuesday afternoon and fell by the final score of 14-8. Trailing 7-1 with 10 minutes left in the first half the Dolphins went on the attack to end the half down by just three goals. The second half started with intensity, but the Crusaders were able to convert five free position shots following Dolphins fouls to put the game out of reach at 14-8. Regan Haegley was phenomenal offensively with 3 goals and 1 assist. Maggie Whittemore and Ashmore Standing each added two goals, with Laney Clarke rounding out the scoring with one of her own. Defensively, Maddie Houck, Julie Pawlowski and Payton Schaubach aggressively disrupted the Crusader fast break while Meredith Wallace made 12 saves. The Dolphins continue their week of tough competition when they host Horseheads High School (NY) on Thursday (4pm).
