STRONG PERFORMANCES MARKED CAPE HENRY WRESTLING'S HOLIDAY COMPETITIONS

MATHEWS INVITATIONAL - Saturday, January 2nd
Cape Henry competed in the Mathews Invitational on January 2nd, and the team finished in 3rd place after the holiday layoff. The Dolphins had strong performances from Sam Law, who finished in 1st place in the 160 lbs weight class, and took home the Most Outstanding Wrestler award. Will Mason took 1st place in the 103 lbs weight class. Justin Lee grabbed a 2nd place finish in the 189 lbs slot, and Thomas Armistead took 2nd at 140 lbs. Scott Cunningham and Jackson Law finished in 3rd place, and Taylor Calley and Jake Kantor took 4th place finishes in their weight class. The Dolphins look to continue their strong performances on Wednesday when they host Norfolk Collegiate (5pm).

BEAST OF THE EAST - Saturday, December 19th
Cape Henry’s Sam Law and Will Mason competed in the Beast of the East wrestling tournament prior to the holiday break, and each showed well in a highly competitive tournament. Mason finished the tournament with a 4-3 record, which placed him 6th out of 45 wrestlers. Law took home an impressive 5-2 record, earning him a 7th place finish out of 60 wrestlers. The top eight finishers in each weight class earned an awards for their efforts.
